China confirmed why they are still the best in the world, as Chinese duo of Siqi Fan and Shaobo Wang claimed the titles in the U-21 singles of the 2018 ITTF Challenge Seamaster Nigeria Open.

To emerge winner in the women’s event, Siqi Fan defeated compatriot Yan Guo 3-1 while Shaobo Wang overcame India’s Ronit Bhanja 3-0.

An excited Fan said after her victory, “I am so happy to have won the game and also I thank all the leaders and organisers of the competition for a job well done". Also Fan’s coach, Ma Yue Fei said: "Nigeria is a great place to be everything here is great and we hope to come back here next here."

Wang expressed his satisfaction over the organization of the championship, while admitting that it was not easy claiming the title.

‘It wasn't an easy win but lot of practice and dedication made it possible. I must also commend the organisers for putting up a good show. Everything in Nigeria is great,” said Wang. The two qualifiers edged out seeded players to emerge as the new champions of the U-21 events.
